Buffalo Automation is an artificial intelligence startup that makes products for commercial vessels, recreational boats, ports and water taxis with the goal to improve maritime safety and automation.

Our products include:

AutoMate, an advanced sensor system that uses our AI to provide situational awareness and decision support for commercial ships. AutoMate serves as an automated lookout, assists with docking and provides a highly accurate draft measurement in realtime. AutoMate is designed as a turnkey aftermarket retrofit solution for commercial vessel operators who want to increase safety, optimize cargo loading and free up crews to focus on more critical tasks.

AutoSkipper, a compact version of AutoMate for smaller vessels that provides automated collision avoidance in addition to traditional autopilot functionality, such as waypoint following. AutoSkipper is designed as an OEM solution for boat and marine engine manufacturers who want to provide their customers state-of-the-art navigation and safety technology, including new innovations like wakeboarder tracking.

AutoFerry, an autonomous modular electric vessel that is solar powered and equipped with the most advanced version of AutoSkipper, which enables fully autonomous and unmanned operation. AutoFerry is designed as an accessible and sustainable vehicle for use as an urban water taxi or as a bareboat charter rental vessel, allowing those unable to afford or operate a boat to enjoy our waters. AutoFerry's modular construction also allows it to be customized and rebuilt at the deployment site, making it a more practical option as a survey, patrol, reconnaissance, amphibious assault and mine countermeasures vessel.

AutoConn, all our products also have an add on option for teleoperation and remote monitoring along with an onboard mobile control station and onshore remote console.

Buffalo Automation prides itself on a culture of innovation that is reinforced by our use of the Pareto principle to explore out of the box use cases for our core technology. The following are some initiatives that we use 20% of our time to experiment and learn from:

AutoSpot, an app that hosts a self-contained offline version of our AI for the public to experiment with.

Raven, our effort to see how our technology applies to automotive and vice versa.

BiFrost, our effort to see how our thermal analytics technologies can help fight pandemics.
